ESL Support System

Many of our students are learning in English while coming from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds. Our ESL (English as a Second Language) program is designed to support students in developing the language skills needed to succeed academically and confidently participate in all areas of school life. Through targeted instruction in listening, speaking, reading, and writing, students build English proficiency while developing the academic language required for success in the classroom. Our ESL teachers provide personalized support, language scaffolding, and engaging learning experiences that help students grow in confidence and independence — reinforced by small classes and a Saturday support program.

  • Primary Target: B1 (CEFR)
  • Middle Target: IELTS 6.0 Equivalent
  • Free Saturday Academic Support

Small Class Advantage

The school-wide student-teacher ratio is currently 1:2, which is what makes the individual attention real. As enrolment grows we cap it at 1:8 — a ceiling, not a target. Every child is known and valued.

High School Diploma

The CCS High School Diploma represents the successful completion of the school's secondary academic programme and reflects achievement across a broad and balanced course of study. Students work toward graduation through a structured programme that develops academic knowledge, communication, research, critical thinking, leadership, character and preparation for further education.

Graduation requirements include successful completion of the school's required academic programme and other school-established requirements for student development and graduation. Students receive academic guidance throughout High School to ensure that course selection and progress remain aligned with graduation expectations and future university or career goals. Detailed credit, course and graduation requirements are published in the CCS High School Programme of Studies and Student Handbook.

World Languages

Language learning at CCS develops more than vocabulary and grammar. It enables students to communicate, understand cultures and engage respectfully with people from different backgrounds. Students have opportunities to develop proficiency in Chinese and Thai through age-appropriate listening, speaking, reading and writing experiences. Lessons emphasise practical communication while progressively developing linguistic accuracy and cultural understanding.

Thai language and cultural learning also supports students' understanding of the country and community in which they live. Through language study, students develop confidence, intercultural awareness and the ability to communicate across linguistic and cultural boundaries.

Extracurricular Activities

Learning at CCS extends beyond the classroom. Our extracurricular programme provides students with opportunities to discover interests, develop talents, build friendships, practise leadership and contribute to the school community. Activities may include opportunities in areas such as music, visual and performing arts, STEM, debate and public speaking, cooking, gardening, academic enrichment, leadership and service.

Through participation, students develop confidence, creativity, teamwork, perseverance and responsibility. Activities vary according to student interest, staffing, age level and the school calendar. We encourage students to explore new experiences and discover the gifts and abilities they can use to serve others.

Sports & Physical Education

CCS believes that physical wellbeing is an important part of educating the whole child. Through Physical Education, sports, swimming and extracurricular athletic opportunities, students develop fitness, coordination, movement skills and an understanding of healthy living. Just as importantly, sport provides an authentic environment for developing teamwork, discipline, resilience, leadership, respect and sportsmanship.

Students are encouraged to participate, challenge themselves appropriately and learn how to compete with integrity. Opportunities may include basketball, volleyball, badminton, football, table tennis, swimming and other recreational, fitness or competitive activities according to age level and programme availability. Our goal is to help students develop healthy habits and positive attitudes toward physical activity that can continue throughout life.
