Frequently asked questions

What curriculum does Chiangmai Cedar International School teach?

CCS offers an English-medium American education, covering Early Years (PK–K3), Primary (G1–G5), Middle School (G6–G8) and High School (G9–G12). The school year follows the American pattern, and high school students receive a transcript and GPA for university applications.

What is the student-teacher ratio and how large are classes?

The school-wide student-teacher ratio is currently 1:2. As enrolment grows CCS caps the ratio at 1:8, so classes stay small enough for teachers to check each child’s understanding directly.

How do I apply to CCS?

Send an inquiry through the form on the Admissions page. The admissions team then arranges a pre-admission assessment covering English, Math, Grammar and Reading, followed by an interview that can be held online or on campus.

What documents are required to enrol?

For the visa application: the student's birth certificate and the parent–child relationship certificate (both dual-authenticated in Thai and Chinese; the relationship certificate is needed for the guardian visa, with a 500,000 THB deposit made one month in advance for the first year and three months in advance every year after), copies of the student's and both parents' passports, the student's vaccination record if available, 6 two-inch student photos and 4 two-inch parent photos, current transcripts and an enrolment certificate, and — for students transferring within Thailand — visa cancellation documentation from their previous Thai school.

When does the school year start?

The 2026–2027 school year runs in four terms, from 3 August 2026 to 8 June 2027. Term 1 is 3 Aug – 8 Oct 2026, Term 2 is 14 Oct – 17 Dec 2026, Term 3 is 4 Jan – 11 Mar 2027 and Term 4 is 16 Mar – 8 Jun 2027.

How much is tuition, and are there other fees?

Annual tuition ranges from 94,000 THB (PK) to 274,000 THB (G12), plus a one-time entrance fee of 30,000 THB and entrance exam of 3,300 THB. Book, uniform, ESL, lunch and other fees are listed on the Admissions page, along with the school bus fee schedule (4,900–9,450 THB per term by distance) and downloadable registration forms.

Where is the school, and can we visit?

The campus is at No. 2, Soi 5, Chiang Mai–Mae On Road, On Tai, San Kamphaeng, Chiang Mai, Thailand. Campus visits are welcome — request one through the form on the home page, or call +66 (0) 62 620 8307.
